Biography
Mariagrazia Stoppa, was born in Magenta and after having taken her school diploma, she moved and married in Brianza. She now lives and works in Casatenovo. About ten years ago she took up again her passion for art: painting and creating objects. After having participated in different courses on porcelain painting at the Milan Hobby Ceram School and the Sculpture School at the Villa Reale Art Institute at Monza, she dedicates her time to porcelain painting (American and Scandinavian technique). She also paints with oils and on panelling.
For some time now, just over four years she has returned to her first passion, clay. She has taken different workshop courses under Climatti (Ceramics teacher at the Faenza Institute). She presently creates ceramic sculptures and panels following the raku technique. She has exhibited in several galleries in Brianza and has participated in local fairs and national reviews. Her works can be permanently viewed at the Galleria Immagini – Spazio Arte at Cremona and on the gallery's web site www.arteimmagini.it with critical presentation by Simone Fappanni (from the curriculum vitae of the artist). Furthermore her works are on permanent display at the FATTO AD ARTE Gallery, whose exhibits are dedicated to Italian artisans in Monza.
